A local businessman and an educator at Toevlug Primary School founded the Ventersdorp Epic Volleyball Team in 2017.
Coach Romeo Diale and Mr Moshoaliba aimed to recruit the youth of Tshing and surrounding rural villages.

According to Moshoaliba, the club strives to promote the extinct volleyball sport through active participation and education, thus, combating social issues like substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, gender-based violence and poverty.
Since 2017, the team has thrived and taken the sport to greater heights. Five players have received provincial colours; four were part of the u.17 North West team that participated in the 2022 Winter Games in Cape Town, while another athlete took part in u.19 National Games in Limpopo in July.

“We have received overwhelming support from local businesses, the Department of Basic Education and the sports department. The support enabled the team and players to be selected to participate in sub-district, district, provincial and national games,” Moshoaliba explained.
Despite having no budget and depending on donations, the team continues to grow and has hosted various coaching clinics in nearby rural villages. “We train under severe conditions, but we are hoping for a good Samaritan to assist with any form of contributions,” Moshoaliba concluded.
