Athletes In Need NPO co-hosted the Annual Recreation and Sports Day alongside, Sportistic brand, JB Marks local municipality, the office of the mayor and the office of Sports, Arts and Culture as well as the sub-district office of the Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation (ACSR).

Approximately 150 people showed up in numbers and contributed to a whole day of fun and fitness.
The purpose of hosting these recreational and team-building events is to instil and inculcate the power that lies in working together as a sports team, organization or institution, fitness club, aerobics club or gym for a better and brighter future
According to the Chairperson of AIN, Busang Molekane, their objectives are first to commemorate the National Recreation month but the emphasise instilling and maintaining a healthy and active society.

Secondly to show their utmost support for teams, organizations, institutions and families and friends to work together as a team and help them realize their different strengths and weaknesses through the recreational and team-building activities we put up at the event.
And lastly, to support the best participating teams by rewarding them with fitness and exercise equipment that they can take home and use to further propel their health and active lifestyles.
This year’s theme was ‘Can your team stand the test of Health and Fitness, while the organization’s team stood various tests this year. “Alone you can go fast but together we can go far,” Molekane added.
