Established earlier this year, Beyond Football academy is a soccer club that trains young boys and girls.
According to the founder of the club, Vuyo the aim of the academy is to develop young boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 14 years old.

“ The long-term goal is to see members from our club eventually compete with professional clubs,” he said.
Vuyo says at the moment they are working towards exposing their members to professional tournaments and great skill. “ Our club isn’t for fun, we want to see our learners succeed,” he explained.

Currently based at Potchefstroom Primary, the club has managed to employ four coaches and one person responsible for the publicity of the club.

At the moment they are training 34 children who are based at Potch Primary, however, Vuyo explains that the academy is open to all learners from any school.

“These learners pay a monthly fee where some of them train twice a week while others once,” Vuyo explained.
Vuyo says what has been a constant challenge for the academy is the inconsistency of finance. “ Our income solely depends on the number of learners we have, therefore the more learners we have, the more money we make and fewer learners equals less money.

Due to this, the club does not have enough equipment and employees are earning less than they should and are therefore in need of donations and sponsors.
