After weeks of collecting donations, community members Marileen Theron and Jeanne-Mari Jordaan and Bafenyi Trust have started handing out donations.
They aimed to donate 2,000 gifts for children and 500 for adults. According to Jeanne-Mari, they managed to collect enough donations with the help of the community and sponsors. “We have already started handing out donations to the adults this week and plan to donate to the chil-dren from Wednesday to Friday next week,” she said.

Each person receives a pack of toiletries and a plate of something to eat. The project started when a simi-lar initiative could not continue its project four years ago. Marileen and Jeanne-Mari saw an opportunity to continue the great work. According to Jeanne-Mari, their main goal with their Christmas project each year is to show the love of Jesus to everyone there. “Everyone should feel special, loved and cared for,” she said. “They should know there is a community that will be there for them and sup-port them. “The team extends a huge thank you to everyone who made this possible,” she said.
