Woman found dead in Promosa Dam this morning

An inquest docket has been registered after a 49-year-old woman’s body was found at the Promosa dam this morning, 1 December 2022, at approximately 08:00.

According to police spokesperson Col Amanda Funani the woman who is believed to be a Sangoma had allegedly left her home on Sunday, 27 November 2022, to go and perform a ritual in the dam. “Police were patrolling when they were stopped by passersby this morning and informed about the body that was floating on the dam,” she said.
