In a statement released by the municipality on Wedenesday, 21 December, Ventersdorp residents were being notified that one of the transformers belonging to Eskom also collapsed after the burning at the Sub-Station.
”We currently supply the entire Ventersdorp with one Eskom transformer which means our Technicians had to make means to supply all residents with electricity by connecting other sections on the AD and RD lines,” the statement read.
Load-shedding has now resulted in some underground cables and lines getting damaged by power surges when electricity is restored, either tripping the supply or bursting the cable.

There is power outage in the following areas:Town, Toevlug, Boikhutso, Appeldraai, Moosa Park and some of the farming areas.
Residents are requested to bear with the municipality during this difficult situation as they try to address such challenges. The Technical Team of the JB Marks Local Municipality is currently on the ground to assess the situation.
