JB Marks Municipality completes repairs on Vyfhoek waterline

JB Marks Local Municipality has completed repairs on the Vyfhoek asbestos water pipe.

JB Marks Local Municipality has announced that repairs on the 450mm diameter Vyfhoek asbestos water pipe have now been completed, following a leakage detected earlier this week. Water pumps have been switched on to begin filling the Vyfhoek Reservoir, with water supply expected to gradually return to affected areas later this afternoon and evening.

In a public notice, the municipality assured residents that service is being restored as quickly as possible and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.

Water supply to the affected areas will be restored progressively, with some areas expected to receive water throughout the evening. The municipality has advised residents to be patient as the system fully stabilizes.

The leak, which occurred on the Vyfhoek asbestos pipe, had a significant impact on the local water supply. Following urgent repairs, the water pumps were activated to ensure that the Vyfhoek Reservoir is filled, providing the necessary water supply to surrounding areas.
