Leak detected on Vyfhoek asbestos water pipe, affecting several areas

A water leak on the Vyfhoek Asbestos Pipe in Potchefstroom is affecting several areas.

JB Marks Local Municipality has issued a public notice about a leak detected on the 450mm diameter waterline of the Vyfhoek Asbestos Water Pipe. The necessary materials for repairs have been ordered, and work will begin once the supplies arrive.

The following areas on the eastern side of Potchefstroom are affected:

  • Baillie Park and its Extension Areas
  • Vanderhof Park
  • Tuscany Ridge
  • Grimbeeck Park
  • De Land

Residents in these areas may experience interruptions to their water supply while the repairs are carried out. In the meantime, the municipality has requested that all affected residents conserve water and store enough for use until the work is completed.

The municipality reassured residents that they will have access to water once the repairs are finalized. However, work can only commence once the required materials have been delivered.

For updates, residents are encouraged to visit the municipality’s official website at www.jbmarks.co.za or follow their official social media pages.
