Miss North-West exclusive finalist stands up for GBV

The top goal and achievement that she is most proud of, is making it through to become a finalist in the competition.

Phenyo Sebetlele (20), a Miss North-West Exclusive finalist, has chosen to support and advocate for victims and NPO’s of Gender Based Violence during her participation in the pageant.

Phenyo entered the Miss North-West Exclusive pageant in August 2024 with a dream of stepping out of her comfort zone and working on the woman she wants to become.

As a second year Recreational Science and Tourism Management student at the North-West University, she doesn’t just support GBV victims, she also raised funds for a Back-to-School project where she donated 100 school bags to Madibeng Primary School in Ikageng. She then went on to interview young heroes of today as part of her community project.

Born in Klerksdorp, she went to Saints Christian School in Potchefstroom and finished her matric at Curro in Klerksdorp. In her spare time, she likes to model and has her own small crotchet business.

“In five years’ time, I see myself having my own non-profit organisation or pageant, inspiring other young women in the pageant industry and engaging more with my community,” Phenyo says.

The goal and achievement that she is most proud of, is making it through to become a finalist in the competition.

“It was definitely a challenge to get here. It was not an easy road and I am proud of myself.”

Phenyo not only need fund in order to continue with her community projects, but she also needs your votes in order to be crowned Miss North-West Exclusive.
