Two-week road closure for major rehabilitation work

The municipality will begin road rehabilitation on Louis Le Grange Road from October 8 to 22. Motorists are urged to use alternative routes as the section between Chief Albert Luthuli/Dassierand and Ross Avenue will be temporarily closed.

The municipality has announced that road rehabilitation and paving work will begin on Wednesday October 8, in Louis Le Grange Road between the Chief Albert Luthuli/Dassierand and Ross Avenue intersection.

According to municipal spokesperson Jeanette Tshite, the project will require a temporary road closure on the affected section from October 8 to 22 to allow for reconstruction work to take place safely and efficiently.

Motorists are advised to make use of alternative routes during this period. Directional signage has been placed to guide traffic to and from the CBD, Industrial Area, Southern Ikageng, and Klerksdorp.

“The construction is expected to take approximately two weeks,” Tshite said. “We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the public’s cooperation as we work to improve our roads.”

The municipality said the rehabilitation work forms part of its ongoing efforts to upgrade and maintain road infrastructure across the area.
