Two drug-related arrests made in Ikageng

A Lesotho national was arrested for allegedly being in possession of Mandrax, whilst another man was arrested for the suspected possession of Crystal Meth.

This past weekend, stop and search operations were conducted in and around Potchefstroom area for drugs and unlicenced firearms and ammunition.

In two separate incidents in Ikageng, two males were arrested for various law breaches. According to NW police spokesperson, Serg Kelebogiel Morake, this included a 35-year-old from Lesotho, who was allegedly found in possession of possible illegal substances (Mandrax) to the street value of more than R700.

Furthermore, the police also seized a replica firearm, magazine and a weighing scale. The man was also charged for being an illegal immigrant as his passport expired. A 25-year-old man was also arrested for possession of suspected illegal substances (Crystal Myth) to the estimated street value of close to
R2 000
