More roof leaks at JB Marks headquarters

Water dripped from the ceiling at various parts of the foyer and ground floor at the entrance.

Heavy rain during the past two days has caused further leaks to the roof at the JB Marks Local Municipality Dan Tloome Civic Centre in Wolmarans Street.

The Herald visited the building this afternoon (Tuesday, May 5) at 13:00 where the public and municipal employees had to contend with the leaking roof and wet floor, which is a safety hazard.

Wet floor warning boards as well as cardboard was placed on the wet floor. The water constantly dripped from the damp ceiling at various parts of the main foyer.

Last week, significant roof leaks caused damage to the section where the cashier offices are. That section is still closed off.

The Herald has sent an enquiry to the municipality but has not yet received feedback.
