Twin gamers from Ikageng show their football skills on the console

A passion for football and gaming has taken the Mogapi twins from Ikageng, Omphile and Onkgopotse, to new heights in the competitive world of esports.
The twins have been excelling at EA Sports FC (formerly FIFA) on the Kasi Flare esports platform reaching the finals of the nationwide Kasi Flare Mid-Season finals.
Kasi Flare gives FIFA gamers from all nine provinces of South Africa the opportunity to compete, develop their skills, and showcase their talent.
The duo became the first players from Potchefstroom to qualify for the Kasi Flare Mid-Season Finals, with one of us earning a place in this prestigious national competition.

Onkgopotse and Omphile have been playing FIFA from a young age and decided to pursue gaming more seriously in 2022.
“What started as a hobby has grown into a passion and an opportunity to represent our community through esports. Gaming has taught us discipline, patience, respect, and hard work. It has helped us stay focused and given us a positive path to follow. We believe esports is more than just gaming – it creates opportunities, builds confidence, and brings young people together,” adds Onkgopotse.
“We enjoy using different teams depending on the competition, but our favourite teams are Real Madrid and Manchester City because they have strong players, good pace, and balanced gameplay. We also like challenging ourselves by using different teams to improve our skills.”
According to Onkgoposte, a good FIFA gamer needs discipline, patience, practice, and consistency.
“You must understand the game, stay calm under pressure, learn from your mistakes, and respect your opponents. The more you practice, the better you become.”
Future plans for the twins are to become one of the best EA Sports FC players in South Africa and to represent their country in international tournaments.
“We hope our story inspires other young people from Ikageng, Potchefstroom and beyond to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams. We want others to know that talent can come from anywhere and that opportunities like Kasi Flare can help turn dreams into reality.”
