Mandela Month initiative gives Padi Primary learners a helping hand
The team carried out repairs to playground equipment.
As part of this year’s Mandela Month commemorations, the Speaker of the JB Marks Council, Alderman Moithoesi Rosy Dassie, partnered with Go Big Media to support learners and staff at Padi Primary School.
The initiative saw school bags being handed over to learners to assist them on their educational journey, while volunteers also rolled up their sleeves to improve the school’s playground.
The team carried out repairs to playground equipment, including welding damaged swings and slides, before giving the structures a fresh coat of paint to create a safer and more welcoming environment for learners.
According to JB Marks Municipality, the initiative formed part of Mandela Month activities aimed at making a meaningful difference in local communities by investing in the wellbeing and development of children through practical acts of service.
