A minibus-taxi collided with a truck this afternoon (Friday, August 7) on the Nelson Mandela (N12) bridge in the direction of Potchefstroom.

It is unsure how the accident occurred. The accident happened just before 15:00. Medical response teams were on the scene to treat passengers in the minibus-taxi. It is unsure how many passengers were transported to the nearest hospital.

At 15:45 authorities were still on the scene of the accident.

This is the second accident in the space of three days on this stretch of road. An accident also occurred on Wednesday, August 5 in the morning where multiple cars were involved.

No fatalities were reported.
