Potchefstroom’s Lilla-Ann Adams shines at Imbokodo Awards 2026
Her story is a reminder that making a difference does not always start with having a large platform.
For Potchefstroom’s Lilla-Ann Adams, being recognised nationally is not only an achievement, it is a reminder of why she continues to serve her community.
Adams, known by many as a prayer warrior, activist and model, was honoured at the South African Woman Imbokodo Awards 2026 on August 9, where she was a guest speaker and received two national awards for Community Engagement and Development.
The recognition celebrates her ongoing commitment to making a difference in the lives of women, children and families in Potchefstroom and surrounding communities.
For Lilla, however, the awards are about much more than trophies.
“My platform is about representation,” she says.
Through her involvement with Rise to Shine in Marikana and Promosa, Adams works to uplift and empower women and children. Her community work includes facilitating breast cancer awareness workshops, serving as a Cupcake Angel to bring joy to children, and mentoring families in the area.
Her dedication to community development has also seen her voice reach beyond Potchefstroom.
On Women’s Day, her article, Being a Working Woman, was featured in PPMC Magazine, where she shared an inspiring message encouraging women to lead with purpose wherever they find themselves.
Speaking at the Imbokodo Awards, Adams reflected on her journey of service and encouraged women and young people to believe in themselves, find their purpose and use their voices to make a difference.
“Hard work pays off,” Adams said. “This reminds me to keep showing up. For the girls. For the community. For purpose. And always to be unique and unapologetically you.”
For Adams, the journey does not end with recognition.
She plans to continue expanding her outreach programmes and using her voice, experiences and platform to inspire and empower others.
Her story is a reminder that making a difference does not always start with having a large platform. Sometimes, it starts with simply showing up, one person, one family and one community at a time.
And for Potchefstroom, Lilla-Ann Adams is doing exactly that.
