A fatal hit-and-run incident occurred this morning on the N12 between Potchefstroom and Johannesburg, near ALS.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Anne Magakoe, says the incident occurred near the ALS construction entrance, on Tuesday, May 5 at approximately 06:30.

“Upon arrival at the scene, police members found the body of an unidentified adult male on the road. It is alleged that the victim was hit by a vehicle and subsequently run over by oncoming traffic,” explained Magakoe.

Magakoe adds that no witnesses have been identified at this stage, and the victim’s identity remains unknown. A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
