Police dismiss alleged N12 spiking incident as false rumour

The police urged the public not to spread unverified information.

Rumours of a suspected spiking incident on the N12 just outside Ikageng caused concern among residents on Monday morning, May 25, but police have dismissed the claims as false.

According to police, no such case has been reported in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District.

Police spokesperson Colonel Adelé Myburgh said the rumour resurfaces from time to time and urged the public not to spread unverified information.

“This rumour appears every now and then. There has never been such an incident reported in Dr KK, although incidents were previously reported on the N4 border between Brits in the Bojanala District and Gauteng,” she said.
