NWU-Pukke turned on the style in their Varsity Hockey match against UKZN on a bitterly cold Saturday evening with a 8-0 triumph to leave the home spectators at the NWU-Puk Astroturf with warmth in their hearts.

Pukke also consequently booked their spot in the semi-finals that will happen on Monday, 15 May at the same venue.

Charne Maddocks scored two goals (one from a penalty corner and one from open play) to further her goal tally in the tournament.

Pukke went into the second half with a commanding 3-0 lead and Lindi Anker added to that with another goal in the third chukka to leave UKZN all to do at 4-0 with 15 minutes to play.

It did not help UKZN went Lori Hyde scored in the Powerplay to extend Pukke’s advantage to 6-0, effectively putting the nail into the coffin. Hyde added another on the stroke of full-time to make it 8-0.

NWU-Pukke have one more match left against Kovsies that will take place tomorrow (Sunday, 14 May) at 18:45. This will determine who Pukke will face in the semi-finals on Monday.
