NWU-Pukke made a statement of intent in the 2017 Varsity Hockey tournament in their first home match with a 13-0 annihilation of the NMMU-Madibaz on Friday night.

The NWU-Pukke Varsity Hockey ladies continued on their good form in this tournament and are now level on 12 points at the top of the Varsity Hockey log.

Their play was just as thunderous as the storm clouds that gathered over the NWU-Puk Astroturf, as they played some exhilarating hockey against an otherwise poor Madibaz outfit.

Anneke Beukman with a  penalty corner and field goal, Lerato Mahlangu with 2 field goals and Charne Maddocks with 3 field goals, clinched an impressive victory for the ladies in black and maroon.

Pukke play their next match against the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal at 18:45 tonight.
