1. Guten Tag, Bonjour and Czesć?
The Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds are a smorgasbord of international athletes and coaches from across the globe. These athletes are currently putting in their winter training here in the hot South African summer and they chose Potch as a preferred training venue mainly due to the excellent facilities, the proximity to the city and the perfect altitude for high-intensity training. It really is a hub of the who’s who of European athletics.
You might bump into someone famous and foreign on the street. Be sure to greet them with a big local smile and make them feel welcome in our city of sporting excellence.
Knap gedaan Promosa Atletiekklub.
3. All in all, it’s just another brick in your hand
Running with a brick for a case of ice cold beer after a 21.1-kilometre road race? You had better believe something like this could only happen in a sports-mad place like Potchefstroom. Thanks to Berts Bricks Athletics Club, this unique race has entertained and enthralled local runners for the past few years and, this Saturday, runners will once again take to the streets. A cold one and a medal will be very welcome in the current earth-scorching temperatures.
