Johannes Jordaan and Zahne Struwig were among the group of students who participated in the first river race of the new race season. The NWU Campus in Vanderbijlpark hosted the event from Henley on Klip to Meyerton on Saturday, 5 May. This 22 km distance was their first race after a series of learner trips to gain experience and river knowledge.
The pair did very well, finishing up as the 3rd mixed doubles combination (male/female) in a time of 2 hours and 5 minutes. Both thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
