After a week of pulsating cricketing action between the u.19 Africa Division 2 teams in Potchefstroom only four teams remain in the quest for division 1 qualification for the 2020 u.19 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Nigeria and Sierra Leone will compete against each other in the final at Senwes Park today (Tuesday, 28 August) at 09:30 with Mozambique and Tanzania facing each other for third place at Ibbies Oval and a final spot in division 1.

Three teams will qualify for the division 1 finals where teams will face stronger African opposition in the form of Namibia, Kenya and Uganda next year.

Thus far, Nigeria and Sierra Leone has produced some fascinating cricket and showed their capability with both bat and ball.

Nigeria’s Peter Aho has starred with the ball taking 11 wickets in the qualifiers. He took 4/37 in the semi against Tanzania and together with Segun Ogundipe’s 62 took Nigeria over the line.

Sierra Leone’s, Osman Sankoh with 51 took his side to victory against Mozambique this past Sunday with a 71 run win against Mozambique.

The 14 year old, James Tommy also impressed with 3/10 to halt the Mozambicans and pave a way for Sierra Leone to the final.
