Christiaan Burke picks up maiden win in Johannesburg
Burke recently won The Pro Shop Northern Amateur at Johannesburg Country Club to celebrate a superb Open Amateur win. He defeated Werner Deyzel from Gauteng North 7 and 5 in a magnificent display to win his first Open Amateur tournament.
It was only a matter of time before the talented young golf star, Christiaan Burke, would be recognised at a national level. His inclusion in the prestigious GolfRSA national squad is a testament to his talent.

The GolfRSA national squad provides funding, support, training camps and more for some of SA golf’s best young amateur talent.
According to GolfRSA, the ultimate aim is to produce stronger national teams and provide individuals with the best preparation for life as golf professionals.
Burke, a former Volkies learner, is the only North West player in the 2019/2020 national squad and is extremely excited at the opportunity it offers.
“I am really thankful to be included. I worked hard to be selected and it is a huge honour. The year has been fantastic and I am currently one of the top-ten amateur players in the country,” he added.
