Cosmos falters at a rainy Olën Park

Cosmos is still in the hunt for promotion in fourth on 19 points, just behind JDR Stars (19 points), Richards Bay (19 points) and Sekhukhune (20 points).

Jomo Cosmos suffered their third loss of the 20/21 GladAfrica Championship campaign with a 2–1 defeat to Free State Stars at Olën Park in Potchefstroom on Saturday, 30 January. The game was played in an empty stadium due to Covid-19 regulations as rain pelted down for most of the match.

This made it tricky for the players as it opened the game up for more chances for each team. Free State Stars scored first, giving them the momentum they needed to secure an away win.

It was a lacklustre performance from Cosmos, which struggled to use their opportunities in front of goal. Cosmos is still in the hunt for promotion in fourth on 19 points, just behind JDR Stars (19 points), Richards Bay (19 points) and Sekhukhune (20 points). All the teams have played 12 games thus far.
