NWU Tawana suffered a week of mixed fortunes with one unlucky draw and a loss in their home and away games in the ABC Motsepe League. The NWU drew 1–1 against Tigane United on Wednesday, 24 March.
They could easily have won the match if they had not been denied two goals. The referee, on both occasions, deemed the NWU to be offsides.
On Saturday, 27 March, it was a different story, with NWU losing 3–0 to Ally’s Tigers.
The NWU head coach, Michael Seleka, was forthright in acknowledging that his side was outplayed on the day.
“They were the better team of the day; well-structured and more organised, with better communication. We can’t complain; they were better and had lots of experienced players. We have learnt a lot from that game and we are going to work hard to improve our performance in the next game,” he stated.
Tawana is currently sixth on the log out of nine teams after five matches.
At the time of writing Tawana was playing against City Rovers at Olën Park.
