The NWU Eagles Varsity Netball team has started the 2022 season in spectacular fashion with three wins from three.
The top of the log NWU side beat the Madibaz 84-52 yesterday and UWC by 72-34 on Sunday in comprehensive fashion.
The team from Potchefstroom also started their tournament with an easy 60-48 victory against UJ.
The NWU will be mightily pleased with their form heading into round 4 and 5 in Potchefstroom this coming weekend (25-26 September).
In front of their home fans, the NWU will meet up against TUT and Maties. The contest against Stellenbosch’s finest should a real classic.
Up front, Sunel Smit in partnership with Elmeré van der Berg, has been a revelation for the NWU. They have kept the scoreboard ticking over with accurate shooting and clever attacking play in the circle.
Lucy Strydom is also a more than capable goal attack that has also shown her class when on court.
In defence, Nicolene van Heerden and Martiné Jordaan forms the backbone.
Tlotlang Mokomela and Keke Molotsi has also starred with energetic displays in the middle of the court.
