Dragons bowlers restrict Warriors to 381 all out

Renaldo Meyer was the pick of the bowlers picking up 5/99.

The North West Dragons bowlers had a fantastic morning session on day 2 of the CSA 4 Day Challenge match against the Warriors at St. Georges Park in Gqeberha today (Friday, 25 November)

Renaldo Meyer was the pick of the bowlers picking up 5/99 in 23 overs as they bowled the Warriors out for 381. Delano Potgieter (2/68) also took the last two wickets. The Warriors had made 331/5 after day 1 and were looking to add more runs in the morning session.

Matthew Breetzke was the stand out batsman for the Warriors ending on 111* (231). Diego Rosier also hit a solid 80 (132)

The Dragons are currently on 42/3 after Grant Mokena was clean bowled for 1 thanks to a peach of a delivery from Warriors and Proteas left-arm pacer, Marco Jansen. Lesego Senokwane (21) and Wesley Marshall was also dismissed cheaply as the Warriors took control.

Dragons’ captain Nicky van den Bergh and Senuran Muthusamy will need to bat on and form a strong partnership.

Marco’s twin brother Duan, is playing on the opposite side for the North West Dragons in an historic match for the former Potch Gimmies cricketers: This is the first time that the brothers are playing against each other in a competitive match.
