Ferdies win low-scoring thriller against Boys High

A superb bowling display from pace bowler, Herman Opperman (4/31) and off-spinner Gomolemo Seiphehlo (4/13) took Ferdies to victory.

Ferdinand Postma High School’s u.19A team secured a 13-run victory against Potchefstroom Boys High in a thrilling NW u.19A School league match at Boys High.

A superb bowling display from pace bowler, Herman Opperman (4/31) and off-spinner Gomolemo Seiphehlo (4/13) took Ferdies to victory this past weekend. They managed to dismiss Boys High for 154 all out, after struggling to 167 all out with the bat.

Ferdies batted first and looked on course for a large score at first with Erhard Jordaan (40 from 46 balls) and Walt Esterhuysen (41 from 44 balls) putting on a solid half-century partnership.

The loss of their wickets saw Ferdies’ middle and lower order collapse with Boys High’s Tshepang Sethibe (3/32) Nthando Xaba (3/31) and Delwin Lenders (3/10) cashing in.

Sethibe with 46 (52) tried his best to steer Boys High’s batting ship, but he ran out of decent support as Ferdies wrapped up the match.
