The North West u.17 Urban Cricket team achieved a 60 per cent win record in the u.17 CSA Regional Week from 7-10 December.
Their performance under the guidance of head coach, Wian Lubbe, was encouraging winning three matches in a row and playing top cricket against the likes of Easterns, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
They beat Easterns by 5 wickets, Mpumalanga by 5 wickets and Limpopo by 6 wickets respectively.
They also show determination against a strong Lions Red and Lions Yellow teams.

Captain, Tommie Botha (Potch Gimmies), was a star with the bat hitting 269 runs at an average of 134.5 and strike rate of 87. He scored 109* as well as two unbeaten fifties.
Botha also picked up 7 wickets with his spin-bowling at an average of 7.71 and economy of 4.63.
Botha was at his best with 109 not out against Easterns in their chase of 236 for victory. Easterns had scored 235 all out in 43.2 overs. Botha took figures of 4/36 to restrict the opposition.

In the chase, it was Botha who played the anchor role with his 109 coming off 154 balls. Volkies’ Attie Liebenberg (31 off 23 balls) and Gimmies’ James Wood (43 off 57 balls) also added to the cause for North West.
Botha also steered NW to victory in their 50-over clash against Mpumalanga scoring an unbeaten 74.
In the final match of the week, North West managed a comfortable 6 wicket win against Limpopo in a T20 clash. Attie Liebenberg top scored with 36 (18 balls).
Logan Rossouw (3/7) and Paballo Moebatsi (3/17) were the standouts with the ball for North West.
