India A tighten grip against SA A

Pradosh Paul made a superb 161 (203 balls) as he showcased his talent against an SA A attack that lacked a bit of edge.

India A’s batsmen showed their class on day 3 of the first unofficial test against SA A at the J.B. Marks Oval in Potchefstroom.

India A posted 377/6 in 77.2 overs at a run rate of 4.8 to the over. Pradosh Paul made a superb 163 (209 balls) as he showcased his talent against an SA A attack that lacked a bit of edge.

Sarfaraz Khan also hit 68 (85 balls) as he and Paul put the SA A bowlers to the sword.

Credit must be given to the SA A team who managed to grab wickets to stifle the run-rate somewhat. Eathan Bosch with 2/46 from 13 overs was the top bowler for SA A.

South Africa A had a poor morning session on day 3 and were bowled out for 319 with the lower order looking to be aggressive. Prasidh Krishna (5/43) made the most of this as he picked up the final wickets to end with a five-for. He also finished the innings with a hat-trick, which was a tremendous performance.

Jean du Plessis top scored for SA A with 106. Rubin Hermann also contributed 95.

India A started in attacking fashion with Devdutt Padikkal (30 off 37 balls) scoring boundaries at will. That was before Paul took the lead with a sparkling century.

Shardul Thakur (70 off 94 balls) was at  at the crease at stimps.
