Local MMA fighter ‘The Mouse’ strikes again

Mickey 'The Mouse' Cloete as he is known and Kelvin Smit, went the distance with Cloete emerging as the winner.

Local professional MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) athlete, Mickey Cloete won another fight last week Thursday evening. The Mouse as he is known and Kelvin Smit, went the distance with Cloete emerging as the winner. He is now considered one of the top contenders in the EFC flyweight division with a record of 5-1. Cloete, trains out of the CGA (Coalition Grappling Academy), with head trainer Roevan de Beer. According to De Beer, Cloete had a late change of opponent which suited his style more. “The game plan was always to get on top and control the fight. Mickey was able to do that from the second round,” De Beer said. It is only a matter of time before Cloete should be considered for a shot at the flyweight title. This
title is currently held by Nkazimulo Zulu.
