The North-West Dragons are in desperate need of a victory this coming Saturday, March 14 against the Dolphins. The North-West Dragons have lost two close matches on the bounce in the CSA 1-Day Cup this past week and a return to winning ways will be needed to boost their title hopes.

The Dragons went down by 11 runs to the Warriors at St. George’s Park on March 19 and also lost to Boland by six runs at the JB Marks Oval on March 7. These losses have taken the Dragons to the middle of the table in fifth place on seven points.
They will need go all guns blazing this coming Saturday when they face the Dolphins at Kingsmead.

A positive aspect for the Dragons has been the return to form of captain and opener, Wihan Lubbe, who scored a well-constructed 80 from 113 balls against the Warriors on Tuesday evening. It was not enough against the Warriors as the men from Gqeberha turned on the screws to defend their total of 262/8. It was former Dragons speedster, Gideon Peters, who was the most lethal, taking 5/48 as he took the fire from the Dragons. Ruan ‘Patches’ de Swardt made 47 from 50, but when he lost his wicket to another former Dragons player, Kerwin Mungroo, the writing was on the wall.
The Dragons can not afford to lose out on key battles if they are to get a win on the board. Fine margins have been hampering the side from Potch, who have the quality to make it far into the competition.
