As many celebrated the New Year with fireworks and other festivities, there was another kind of fireworks in the Mediclinic maternity ward.

Four families welcomed their bundles of joy on the first day of 2022. In total, South Africa’s Health Minister Dr Joe Phaahla announced the birth of 1,764 babies born at various health care facilities across the country on New Year’s Day. He congratulated all the parents on the safe arrival of their newborns and wished them good health.
