Load curtailment to continue for next six days

Electricity is set to be switched off in intervals for the next six days.

Load reduction will continue from Wednesday, May 13 until at least May 18 as large sections of Potchefstroom as well as Promosa, Ikageng and Mohadin continue to feel the brunt of infrastructure issues on the Eskom 66KV line.

The JB Marks Local Municipality has issued a public notice this evening (Tuesday, May 12) regarding the updated load curtailment schedule effective from May 13.

This after it had been hoped that load curtailment would end today. It is unsure yet how long the load curtailment measures will be implemented post Monday, May 18.

According to JB Marks municipal spokesperson, Jeanette Tshite, Eskom technicians are still busy with repairs and that load curtailment could be suspended if connections are completed in the next couple of days.

Areas on the 132KW line are not affected. This includes the neighbouhoods of Vanderhoffpark, a large section of Bailliepark, Tuscany Ridge, Waterberry Estate, DeLand, Vyfhoek, Lekwena Estate and so forth.
