VIDEO: Injury doesn’t slow Potchefstroom dance star down

In the middle of her performance at the International Fine Arts Association South Africa (IFAA SA) Dance Championship, Anellé Arbuckle sustained an injury, but this didn’t stop her nor did it slow the young dancer down.

Anellé participated in the trials and semi-finals of the IFAA SA Dance Championships that were hosted in Stilfontein on 9 and 10 August.  During her hip hop performance, she tore her pelvis. According to Lazellé Arbuckle, Anellé’s mother, despite the fact that Anellé was injured, she continued until she completed all her performances.

In the end, she came in first place overall and won all her dance categories, which include hip hop, contemporary, modern, jazz, lyrical and musical theatre.  Her scores are 93.67, 93.63, 92, 93.5, 92.67 and 93.33 per cent respectively.

With her great overall performance, Anellé qualified to perform at the SA’s dance finals that will be hosted in Pretoria, on 23 and 24 August.

Anellé did seek medical attention and is currently undergoing treatment and hopefully will be fit to participate in the finals next week.
