Young fighters learn more than just punching at Saint Spider Boxing Academy
Tshifhiwa Munyai, a Ferndale-based professional boxer teaches young fighters at at Saint Spider Boxing Academy.
Ferndale-based professional boxer Tshifhiwa Munyai has started Saint Spider Boxing Academy to get children off the streets.

Munyai a former South African Champion, Commonwealth Champion, WBA Pan African Champion, WBA Intercontinental Champion, and IBO World Champion believes that his academy will help shape young people’s lives.

The academy is based at the Saint Striking Academy and Fitness gym in Ferndale on Republic.

Munyai said his goal was to engage the youth and promote boxing to develop discipline, confidence, and a healthier lifestyle.

“Life alone requires a lot of hard work, so we want to instill that in our young boxers so that they can be successful. The academy aims to keep the kids off the streets and help them to stay focused on gym, boxing and also school.”

The academy caters to youngsters from nine to 23 years old and they currently have 15 trainees.
Munyai urges young people to visit the academy and try boxing classes.
