IIE-Vega students go bald for CANSA Shavathon
IIE-Vega students, in Bordeaux, boldly coloured their hair to support cancer patients at their recent CANSA Shaveathon.
Independent Institute of Education (IIE)-Vega students, in Bordeaux, embraced the spirit of the 23rd annual CANSA Shavathon, bringing this year’s theme: Fearless Hair to Show You Care, to life.

As part of Wellness Week, the campus hosted the Shaveathon, raising funds to support cancer patients and their families.
Anita Snyders, national sustainability manager at CANSA, said losing hair is a common side effect of cancer treatment. Shaving, or spraying hair in bold colours, has become a powerful act of solidarity.

“The CANSA Shavathon is a great way for organisations to bring people together in a fun, meaningful way while spreading critical cancer awareness messages.”
Funds raised will help provide essential care, including counselling, home-based support, medical equipment hire, and cancer screenings through CANSA’s pop-up clinics.
