JAM Clothing and Randburg FC collaborate on Mandela Day

JAM Clothing and Randburg Football Club celebrate Nelson Mandela Day with community upliftment through sports.

In celebration of Nelson Mandela Day, Randburg Football Club, in a proud partnership with JAM Clothing, gave back to the local community through the power of sport.

Together, they held a 67-minute penalty shootout competition at the club — honouring Madiba’s legacy through sport, unity, and community spirit. Young ballers from the U9 to 16 came out in numbers on a fun event that reflects a shared commitment to using sport as a catalyst for positive change, particularly among youth.

Margaux Mendoza, of the Randburg FC fundraising committee, explained that the event was an absolute success, despite being the first time the club had held it.

“It exceeded our expectations in both participation and community spirit. It wasn’t just about football—it was about coming together to celebrate the legacy of Nelson Mandela through fun, unity and giving back. The turnout was fantastic. We had players come out from all age groups, whether they had training on Friday or not. From the cheers of the crowd to the smiles on the players’ faces, it was clear that everyone had a great time.”

The money raised will be donated to one of the underprivileged children at the club. “This will enable us to provide support to the player.”

The winners walked away with clothing vouchers, hoodies, medals, and soccer balls, all sponsored by JAM Clothing. But more than that, they received recognition and a strong sense of pride in contributing to a meaningful cause.

Cindy Chain, who heads up Sports Marketing and CSI at JAM Clothing, shared the brand’s vision.

As JAM Clothing continues to expand its national presence, it’s proving to be more than just a fashion retailer. Chain said that together with Randburg Football Club, the brand is demonstrating a deep, shared commitment to community development.

“From the pitch to the people, we are actively investing in South Africa’s future — offering affordable fashion and fostering local talent while making a real difference where it matters most.”
