Randfontein Police have arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend to death in Homelake during the weekend.
Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, said they are investigating a case of murder after a student was stabbed in Salie Street, Homelake at about 8.20am on Sunday, 26 May.
“The sector police received a complaint about a murder that had occurred in Salie Street, and upon arrival, found the victim already being examined by the emergency services. He was sadly declared dead on the scene,” Hendricks said.

It was alleged that the victim was busy washing a vehicle when he was approached by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend and a fight broke out.
“The assailant stabbed the victim and fled the scene. The victim ran for help, but collapsed in the middle of the road. It was found that he had a stab wound on his upper body.”
The suspect is still at large and a murder case was opened.
“The Randfontein detectives are requesting the help of the community to assist them in finding the perpetrator and can be contacted on 011 278 8100,” Hendricks concluded.
