RCA launches anti-bullying campaign

Learners from Randfontein Christian Academy got their creative juices flowing and held an anti-bullying workshop recently.

Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) hosted a campaign against bullying on Thursday, 23 May.

According to the spokesperson of the school, Vanessa Dreyer, the aim was to educate learners about the seriousness of the issue, how it can be prevented and how not to be a bully.

Sandri Appelgryn, a social worker, conducted the workshop.

Vanessa added that the campaign was also an opportunity for learners to learn about emotional intelligence – something she said was very important.

Learners are so privileged to be able to fully understand this concept now; they will be better children in society,” Vanessa said.

However, she said the day was not only about addressing this serious issue. “We also had a lot of fun learning how to decorate cookies with royal icing, which was presented by Petite Chef Cooking For Kids.”

Learners enjoyed it so much to get their creative juices flowing, learning new skills they could use at home. Photo submitted.

“We thank Petite Cooking School For Kids as well as Sandri for helping us make this day educational, fun and successful,” Vanessa added.
