Help feed Cast Aways animals

Cast Away Animal Sanctuary's animals need the community's help with food.

Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary is in dire need of donations to feed its animals.

The founder and director of Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary, Louisa Rossouw, has confirmed that they are running out of dog and cat food. Currently, the animal shelter has 237 cats and 139 dogs to feed.

“At this stage, we do not have enough dog pellets or soft food to feed the animals. Our funds are dried out. I buy food every day with my own finances, praying that a miracle happens,” she stated, claiming that she pays for 80% of the shelter’s expenses.

Rossouw added that she cannot continue carrying the shelter on her finances and that she might have to choose between not accepting new animals if they do not receive pet food.

“Please, support Cast Aways. The shelter cannot do what it does without the community’s help,” she said.

The shelter is in desperate need of donations such as dog and cat pellets along with soft food for the puppies and kittens. Donations can be delivered to plot 26 in Johanna Street, Wilbotsdal. Community members can also leave donations at the Homestead Veterinary Hospital.
