Michelle van Zyl was declared the lucky winner and expressed her joy by stating it felt good to win something.

The hamper will be standing on my cupboard because it looks so beautiful. It is gorgeous,” she expressed.

According to volunteer Clarisse Kruger, the fundraiser was a huge success, and the community made the event a joint effort. She added that she is very thankful to the community, and she thanked every person who supported the organisation.

Furthermore, all funds will be going towards the care of their animals, which includes kennel fees, vet bills and dog food. They currently have 30 dogs in their care.

“With this fundraiser, we could see the amount of support given by the community. Even though it was just a R10 Easter egg that residents bought, there was an unbelievable amount of support, and we thank the community for that,” Clarisse concluded.
