Ilse de Bruyn, director of the studio, said it was a delightful twist to the usual weekend routine.

“Fathers laced up ballet slippers, and some even tutus, to dance alongside their young dancers. The studio buzzed with laughter as dads attempted pliés, tendus and jetés, discovering first-hand that ballet is far from a walk in the park.”

They handed out prizes to the best-dressed dad.

From little ballet tutus to bold and creative outfits, the dads didn’t hold back and the children loved every second of it,” Ilse noted.

“It was such a joy to see the studio filled with dads making memories with their children. To hear them say ‘wow, ballet is hard’ was the cherry on top!”

Ilse concluded that the class was not only an exciting way to celebrate Father’s Day, but also a reminder of how dance can bring families together. It created a special bond between the fathers and their children, along with love and laughter.
