Championing recovery and hope: Dipuo Tlholoe’s community impact
From taking addicts to rehabilitation facilities and arranging methadone treatment referrals, to caring for their children in her ECD centre free of charge, Dipuo Beauty Tlholoe exemplifies the true spirit of selfless service.
Founder of Elinye Ithuba Rehabilitation Centre and Beyonce Edu-Care Centre, Dipuo Beauty Tlholoe (68), has received recognition for the work she does on the West Rand, which includes helping those who struggle with addiction.
The rehabilitation centre and edu-care centre are based in Kagiso, where Dipuo does most of her charity work. In the past, she has collaborated with organisations in Westonaria such as The Message, Faded Black, and New Revelations Children’s Hope. She has also participated in outreach initiatives, handing out donations to those in need in and around Randfontein, Tarlton and Hekpoort.
The rehabilitation centre was founded in 2017 and has since been committed to supporting individuals who battle drug addiction. The centre focuses on rehabilitation, counselling, and community reintegration while offering support to the families of those affected.
Dipuo, along with her team, has successfully conducted substance abuse awareness campaigns and programmes addressing issues leading to STIs and HIV infections.
Besides working with her team, Dipuo personally ensures that addicts receive proper help by facilitating rehabilitation admissions and treatment referrals. She also provides support groups for those still awaiting admission to help them manage their recovery.
The edu-care centre was established in 2009 to provide a nurturing environment for children, specifically for those whose parents are in recovery. The centre offers early childhood education, nutrition, and emotional support to ensure the children remain in a healthy space.
The centre not only cares for children in need but also offers programmes focused on anti-bullying, teenage pregnancy prevention, and HIV/ Aids awareness, ensuring a safe environment to protect the next generation from social ills.
Dipuo was recently awarded by the Speaker of the Legislature for her contributions to the community.
According to Solomon Mulungo from the Visualize Greatness Marketing Agency, this recognition created an emotional moment reflecting years of impactful selfless service.
Dipuo described the award as a teary moment of joy, symbolising the long and difficult journey she has walked to fight substance abuse.
“This honour stands as a testament to her unwavering dedication, compassion, and the meaningful change she continues to bring to the people of the West Rand,” Solomon said.
He added that her vision remains clear: to create a healthy, drug-free generation where the youth have opportunities to thrive and where parents regain their dignity to unite against substance abuse.
