Venterspos residents and pets urgently need water donations

No More Tears Animal Rescue is appealing to the West Rand community to assist Venterspos residents and their animals, who have been without water for over three days.

After Venterspos residents went more than three days without water, No More Tears Animal Rescue is appealing to the community to donate water.

Volunteer Clarisse Kruger said they are appealing to those living in Randfontein, Westonaria and Krugersdorp to not only help the residents, but to keep their animals hydrated.

She further noted that with the water being cut off, families and pets are now in dire need.

“Some of the animals are already weak and dehydrated. Their owners are desperate to keep them alive until help arrives,” Clarisse explained.

She added that although a water tanker made rounds in the area, it was insufficient to meet the residents’ urgent water needs.

“We urgently need to stand together as a community and help both the people and their animals through this crisis. If anyone has access to a water tanker, borehole water, or can donate bottled water, please reach out and help. Every drop of water matters right now,” she emphasised.

No More Tears highlighted the following drop-off points where water can be donated:

• Randfontein Dierehospitaal situated at 10 Stegman Street, Randgate
• Homestead Veterinary Hospital situated at 72 Homestead Avenue, Homelake
• The Engen Convenience Centre situated at Key West Shopping Centre, 1739 Paardekraal Drive, Monument
