Jannas nail first place in English Relay Reading Challenge

Jannas Grade 9 learners were awarded first place and triumphed as high school winners of the D2 District in the first round of the English Relay Reading Challenge.

Hoërskool Jan Viljoen is proud of their learners who recently did extremely well during the English Relay Reading Challenge.

English teacher at the school Léane Maré said their Grade 9 English Home and First Additional Language learners participated in the reading challenge that was hosted by the Department of Education on Thursday, September 8. They were awarded first place and triumphed as high school winners of the D2 District in the first round of the competition.

The learners will now represent the school at the provincial competition to be held on October 15, where they are going to compete against other schools and districts in Gauteng.
