Council still wants to shift the blame

I have been following the news about the sewage being dumped into our streams and in all honesty I think its about time that the municipality stops passing the buck and take full responsibility for this mess.
At this point, all they seem to be doing is really distancing themselves from the saga.
Initially, concerns were raised about a local farmer’s cattle that died owing to drinking water from a local stream filled with sewage.
In response to this, the council said that she must take her cattle in for an autopsy to determine if they really died from the so called contaminated water.
Another water scandal emerged and was published in the Herald shortly after this incident.
Another local farmer said that more than 100 of his fishes died in his pond and suspects that the sewage also flows into his pond.
Now all of a sudden, they are saying that they will not take any responsibility for the fishes and urged him together with local Ward Councilors to take the water in for testing to determine if it is indeed contaminated.
Now I don’t know about you but I think something is wrong with this picture.
Farmers keep losing their livestock after drinking the contaminated water in exactly two consecutive weeks.
Mind you that all along, the cattle had been drinking the water from the local stream and nothing happend and obviosly the fish had been living in the pond for some time, they too have been fine and since the sewage outbreak, they just died. .
Now the municipality wants to tell us that there is a possibility that this is not their fault.
They must stop selling us that story because we just don’t buy it.
What they need to do is take responsibility for this, compensate the farmers and fix the problem. Finish and klaar.
