Why not shine online?

• The editor writes:

Why not let your voice be heard, introduce yourself to the public, share educational and interesting information with the rest of the town, go back in time or be the weather person?

As many of you already know, the Herald has been running five unique online features on a weekly basis, of which we would love the residents of Randfontein and Westonaria to become part.

These features are:

1. #MunicipalMonday: Is the municipality/ council ignoring you? Is there a problem that’s been bothering you? Why not share your municipal issue with us and let your voice be heard.

2. #TeinerTuesday: This is where anyone in Rand West City will have the opportunity to introduce him- or herself. Just think, who is that Oom or Tannie, security guard, neighbour, police officer, teacher, etc living down the road from you? Our readers are welcome to nominate someone to feature.

3. #WisdomWednesday: This is an informative piece and can be on any subject. It will vary, depending on the topic. Do you perhaps have a DIY idea, a recipe or tips on how to complete your tax return to share?

4. #ThrowbackThursday: The Herald will identify a particular event that happened in the past, get those involved in front of a camera and have a discussion – basically going back in time. Once again, our readers are welcome to nominate someone to feature.

5. #ForecastFriday: A while back I was in front of the camera to present the weather forecast for the weekend and the following Monday. Next up were our journalists. In future, ‘celebrities’ in town will be asked to read the forecast. How much fun is that?!

Just think about it, once a week you have the opportunity to shine online. Email me at randfonteinherald@caxton.co.za or contact us on 011 693 3671 with your suggestions. Just remember, participants need to record a video with one of our journalists.

We look forward to hearing from you.

That’s a wrap!

Editor.
