We are struggling to get to school and work every day

Let us be the same as other townships with Metro buses transporting us back and forth.

Please help the commuters of Westonaria to find out why are we suffering every year, every day. We use the trains to school and work, but the service is very poorly controlled.

We need buses like the neighbouring townships that have Metro bus services. This would make us all proud and happy.

We are often late for work and school, and all we are hearing is failed messages from Metrorail – a division of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) and Transnet.

Every time we have a problem at our train station, they send buses to take us to Midway station to catch a connection, but that does not help any one, because the contract buses are never on time.

Please, we need help. Let us be the same as other townships with Metro buses transporting us back and forth.

Editor’s note:

The writer claims to have received the following message from Metrorail Prasa –

‘As from 5 March 2019, which is tomorrow, we won’t have any service on the Olberholzer – Midway Corridor until the line is deemed safe for trains. With that being said, note that the bus service is also terminated. Customer service is urged not to sell any tickets to these corridors. All commuters who have bought monthly tickets are advised to bring them back. They will then be refunded. We do apologise for the inconvenience these continuous thefts on the Olberholzer line have caused. … Alternative means of transport is the option for commuters in [the] Olberholzer corridor.’
